Festival of Bands
The ABA Festival of Bands is held each May at Red Deer College. Thousands of students converge on the college to perform and receive positive, educational feedback from our world-class adjudicators. The festival reaches capacity each year, so register early!
Festival of Bands 2008 will take place MAY 12 - 23, 2008.

The Alberta Honour Band
The Alberta Honour Band provides an auditioned, advanced performing experience for Alberta's high school students. The students come together at the Alberta Band Conference each year to rehearse with one of North America's top conductors. The experience culminates with a performance of advanced repertoire in front of hundreds of band directors taking in the conference! Audition deadline is April 21, 2008. The Alberta Junior Honour Bands
There are two Alberta Junior Honour Bands - north and south. Held in conjunction with respective teachers' conventions in Edmonton and Calgary, the honour bands provide an advanced, auditioned performance experience for Alberta's Junior High School students. Top music educators in the province lead the students through 3 days of fun and intensive rehearsals. The experience culminates in a performance of a number of pieces that the students have prepared in rehearsal.

Canadian Band Association
The Alberta Band Association is proud to be associated with the Canadian Band Association (CBA). The Past-President and President of the Alberta Band Association attend regular CBA meetings to further the goals of the ABA on a National level, and to collaborate with similar provincial associations across Canada. All ABA members automatically become CBA members and benefit from CBA publications, programs and services.
Syllabus
The Alberta Band Association produces a syllabus each year, which contains recommended, appropriate works listed by skill level. The ABA Syllabus is adopted by festivals throughout the province and provides band directors with guidance as to quality literature for their students to perform.

Alberta Band Conference
Alberta's annual conference for band students, teachers and enthusiasts occurs annually in October. Featuring the top experts in North America, world-class clinicians, great networking, and a variety of industry-sponsored sessions and events, the ABC is a fantastic chance for Albertans to gather and celebrate band.
