In addition to services such as this website, advocating for band throughout the province, providing networking opportunities to our membership, and publishing the Musicom magazine, the Alberta Band Association offers a number of formal programs to its members and their students.

The Alberta Band Association produces a syllabus each year, which contains recommended, appropriate works listed by skill level. The ABA Syllabus is adopted by festivals throughout the province and provides band directors with guidance as to quality literature for their students to perform.
Canadian Band Association
The Alberta Band Association is proud to be associated with the Canadian Band Association (CBA). The Past-President and President of the Alberta Band Association attend regular CBA meetings to further the goals of the ABA on a National level, and to collaborate with similar provincial associations across Canada. All ABA members automatically become CBA members and benefit from CBA publications, programs and services.
The National Youth Band of Canada is a program of the Canadian Band Association.
