MUSICAMP ALBERTA
MusiCamp Alberta is a residential summer music program for students aged 10 to 17. This year's camp will take place July 20th - August 9th at Red Deer College in Red Deer, Alberta. A wide variety of one and two week programs are offered including Junior and Intermediate Choirs, Intermediate Bands, Piano Workshop, Peterkin Symphonic Band and Musical Theatre. Included in each student's day are private and small group/ensemble instruction, music option classes, full group instruction, faculty presentations and organized recreation activities. Each evening students attend faculty or guest recitals, presented on Mainstage of the Arts Centre. These concerts as well as the final student concerts are open to the general public as well as family and friends. The program is co-sponsored by Red Deer College and financially supported by the Alberta Foundation for the Arts as well as the Alberta Summer Music Workshop Association.
Instructional faculty is comprised of distinguished, world class performers and teachers drawn from high profile professional ensembles, orchestras, universities and schools. This professional faculty attracts new students to the program as well as ensuring top quality instruction. In addition to private and small group instruction, students have the opportunity to explore music options including ear training, musical theatre, theory, and jazz ensemble.
